Veed.io's Slides To Video
Veed.io
Background
As part of the efforts to find new revenue streams that correlated with enterprise customers, Veed wanted to explore a "Job To Be Done" aimed at large company's Learning and Development teams. After some user research, we identified the transformation of documents and slide decks into videos as one of these teams' most pressing needs.
Role
As a Staff Engineer within the Editor organization, I was brought early on into the project to ensure we delivered a sound Proof of Concept and, later on, an MVP that we could start offering to our enterprise customers.
I jumped right in, leading the team by:
- Driving the requirements gathering phase and getting buy-in for a release plan together with Product and Design
- Setting the technical approach of the project, applying DDD concepts to its architecture
- Aligning with two other product teams working on similar projects, consolidating UI components, and steering the user experience toward consistency
- Leading the execution of the project and preparing the release by polishing the UI and crafting a test plan
Results
- We increased the consistency of our product and saved development time by sharing components and code patterns between three teams
- Enabled a new AI-powered user workflow that we hope will increase the chances of landing high-value enterprise customers
- A plan to optimize the prompt we were using in order to achieve the highest quality and consistency possible
