YogiPlay's Parent Center
YogiPlay
Background
Cedric and Michal Sellin had a problem: how to get quality and educational apps for their children's devices among all the thousands of apps that you can find within the app stores. This was the main idea of YogiPlay, a platform of app recommendations tailored for your child's age, device and skills. Backed by educators, they gathered a brilliant team of professionals with a great commitment to build a lifestyle application that should run on a really fragmented field of devices.
Role
I Worked hand in hand with the User Experience team to bring to life the new designs of the Mobile, iPad and responsive versions, backing them with intensive A/B tests and user tests with children. Worked under serious time constrains, and managed to develop the Mobile and Tablet app in a short time. Only then could I spend some time with client side performance iterations, adding lazy loading of images and applying the industry's best practices. The Responsive site was developed with Bootstrap, and built on a modular basis thanks to AMD modules' RequireJS.
Results
YogiPlay's Parent Center was an intensively tested, themable and easy to use app. It was compatible with a great variety of devices, including Android 2.2 and above, iPhone, iPad, Nook Color and Kindle Fire. My first contact with the mobile world and with the fierce competition that the app stores distribution system involves.
